THE CATHOLIC CEMETERY ASSOCIATION OF RACINE
DECORATION
POLICIES
•Fencing,
coping, hedges, curbing or any such enclosure of a
lot or flower area is prohibited.
•No
seasonal grave sprays or blankets are allowed.
•Fresh
wreaths are allowed between Nov. 15 and March 15.
Any holiday decorations not removed by March 15
will be removed and disposed of by the Catholic
Cemetery Association.
•All
graves must be kept level with the ground. Mounds
over graves are not permitted.
•Planting
of flowers is permitted along the length of and
within one foot in front of any monument,
headstone, or marker.
•No
hanging baskets are permitted.
•PLANTING
OF TREES, SHRUBS, ROSE BUSHES, ETC. BY LOT OWNERS
IS PROHIBITED.
•The
cemeteries will be cleared of all winter
decorations on or after March 15 annually, as
weather permits.
•All
summer decorations and flags will be removed
annually by Nov. 15.
•A
casket garland is the only funeral flower
arrangement permitted.
•No
glass containers or other non-biodegradable
objects are permitted on the premises, including
polystyrene foam, plastic wreaths, crosses, etc.
•Statues
are not permitted.
•Specific
decoration regulations vary from season to season.
It is the responsibility of persons desiring to
place decorations or commemorative items at
individual grave sites to make inquiry at the
cemetery office for precise information regarding
these items.
•Any
decoration or item deemed by the cemetery to be in
violation of its regulations will be removed or
discarded without notice to the owner thereof. The
Catholic Cemetery Association of Racine Inc.
assumes no liability to lot owners for removal and
discarding or items placed in violation of
cemetery rules and regulations.
•No
fresh cut flowers are allowed in mausoleum
buildings.
•Only
approved artificial flowers and emblems are
permitted on crypt fronts. These are to be
purchased through the Catholic Cemetery Office,
located at 5600 Holy Cross Road.
•No articles are permitted to be taped or wired or attached in any other way to the crypt fronts.
GROUNDS
POLICIES
•If
any trees, shrubs, situated in any part of the
cemetery shall, in the opinion of the Association
Manager, by means of their roots or branches or
otherwise become detrimental to the adjacent lots
or alleys, or prejudicial to the general
appearance of the grounds, or dangerous or
inconvenient to passersby, the Association Manager
shall have the right to remove said trees or
shrubs or such parts thereof as may be required.
•All
of our cemeteries are closed to all from dusk to
dawn.
•Pets
are not permitted on the grounds.
•No
loitering, skateboarding, skating, kite flying,
model flying, archery of weapons firing or other
activity disrespectful to the cemetery is allowed.
•Minor
children without adult escort are not permitted
except for those attending services or with
permission from the cemetery office.
•All
labor performed in the cemetery must be done by or
through the Association Manager.
•All
work and improvements on the cemetery grounds are
subject to the control and direction of the
Association Manager. Any persons desiring work
done of any kind must explain to the Association
Manager the nature and extent of work required.
•The Catholic Cemetery Association of Racine, Inc. is not responsible for damage to or loss of property resulting from vandalism or theft.
BURIAL
POLICIES
•No
grave will be opened until the cost of space,
digging, and any assessments against the lot are
paid in full.
•Owners
of burial rights may not sell those rights without
the permission from the Catholic Cemetery
Association of Racine, Inc. Please contact
our office for details.
•The
Catholic Cemetery Association of Racine Inc. does
not repurchase graves, crypts, or niches.
MONUMENT
POLICIES
•Monuments/markers,
including their plans, specifications and sites
MUST, before placement, be first approved by the
Catholic Cemetery Association of Racine, Inc.
•Markers
must be of granite and/or bronze composition of
one piece, not less than 12 inches or over 30
inches in length for a single grave.
•Photos
encased in ceramics are allowed on
markers/monuments.
•Monuments,
base size up to 48 inches by 14 inches by 8
inches, with a maximum die height of 36 inches are
allowed on side-by-side graves.
•All
two-piece monuments must be installed with a
cemetery-approved concrete foundation. BEFORE
selecting such markers, please check with the
Catholic Cemetery Association of Racine, Inc. for
initial approval.
•Notwithstanding the above, NO marker/monument shall be permitted which, in the opinion of the Catholic Cemetery Association of Racine Inc., is prejudicial to the general appearance of the cemetery/grounds.
MAUSOLEUM
POLICIES
•Payment
made for the cost of the crypt does not include
the entombment fee or the cost of lettering the
crypt front, if not included in the original
purchase contract. Additional charges will be due
the Catholic Cemetery Association of Racine Inc.
for these services in accordance with rates
prevailing at the time these services are
rendered.
•Owners of burial rights in a crypt may not sell those rights without the permission from the Catholic Cemetery Association of Racine, Inc. Please contact our office for details.
•All
bodies must be embalmed in accordance with
standards specified in Chapter HSS 136 of the
Wisconsin of the Wisconsin Administrative Code,
prior to entombment.
•The
Catholic Cemetery Association reserves, and shall
have, the right to correct errors that may be made
by it either in making entombments,
disentombments, or removals, or in the
description, transfer or conveyance of any
property, either by canceling such conveyance and
substituting and conveying in lieu thereof other
property of equal value and similar location as
far as possible, as may be selected by the
Association. In the event the error shall involve
the entombment of the remains of any person in
such crypt, the Association shall have the right
to remove and re-entomb the remains to such other
crypt of equal value and similar location as may
be substituted and conveyed in lieu thereof.
•If
the Catholic Cemetery Association, Inc.
determines, in its sole discretion, that repairs
are required involving any crypt in the cemetery,
the Catholic Cemetery Association reserves and
shall have the right to temporarily remove and
re-entomb the remains of any person to another
crypt until such time as repairs have been
completed.
The Catholic Cemetery
Association of Racine Inc. reserves the right to
revise or amend these rules.
